Stakeholders

This page provides information for governors, teaching staff and local authority personnel, plus live links to online printed and broadcast media.

In furtherance of its charitable objects, the NCPTA has developed effective working relationships with key stakeholders, so that we can ensure governors, heads, teaching staff and local authorities are aware of the valuable contribution a PTA can make.

NCPTA Member Survey 2008

The results of the NCPTA 2008 member survey show just how much PTAs do to support their schools. The average amount contributed to schools is up by nearly £1,000 (on the 2007 results) to £5,500; we therefore estimate that in total NCPTA members contribute around £68 million a year to enhance the education experience of many thousands of children.

And it doesn't stop at fundraising. Last year's findings that PTAs are increasingly involved in other activities in school besides fundraising were confirmed. Around a third of members report activities to encourage other parents to get involved in their children's education, with a similar number working with the local community. A more limited number are supporting healthy school status and the extended schools agenda.

NCPTA Stakeholder Briefings

For Heads and Governors, we have produced a series of Briefings. Follow the links on the left.

Extended Services (England), Extended Schools (NI), Community Focussed Schools (Wales).

The NCPTA has produced some information which details how a PTA may be able to support its school (or cluster) in the delivery of extended school services.

If you would like to talk to the NCPTA about setting up a PTA, or how we can support your existing association, please contact Jane Galbraith, NCPTA membership development manager.
