North West

I am Karen Wood, Regional Adviser for PTAs throughout the North West. My role is to support and guide you and I do this by providing advice on subjects such as:

• gaining further support from the parents, staff and local community
• promoting the work of the PTA
• starting a PTA
• fundraising ideas
• ensuring you are aware of legislation that affects your work

As part of the NCPTA's support service to its members, I organise a series of events throughout the region, which are free to attend. These include local PTA fundraising and start up workshops plus bespoke events for secondary schools. Visit events for the most up-to-date information on what' s going on near you.

Over time, I am looking to develop this part of the site, so that PTAs in the North West have a further resource to support their activities. If you have a news story or have successfully overcome a specific issue or held a fantastic fundraiser then email me karen.wood@ncpta.org.uk with the details.  The NCPTA will make a donation of £10.00 if  your story is published.

For this academic year, the NCPTA has introduced a new regional newssheet, Your Area, which will be posted to the key contact for your association. If you would like to make a contribution to this part of the website and/or the Your Area newssheet, then please do not hesitate to get in touch. The NCPTA will donate £10 to your association should we publish your contribution.
