North East

I am Lee Walker and I have been the NCPTA North East Regional Adviser since January 2005. I am responsible for supporting and advising PTAs throughout the region. My role includes the running of locally held workshops and training events aimed at giving PTAs the opportunity to meet and share good practice, exchange fundraising ideas and learn about issues that affect the day to day running of a successful PTA. I also provide support to local PTA groups by way of telephone, e-mail and face to face advice and information and providing access to the many resources available from the NCPTA including:

• information sheets
• trustfunding information and assistance
• advice packs and suppliers lists

I also work with local parents, schools, school partnerships and Childrens' Services to find ways of supporting existing PTA groups and starting new home school associations.

This part of the site will expand over time so if you have achieved something that you are very proud of or if you have overcome a specific issue and would like to share this with other PTAs throughout the North East, then please email me lee.walker@ncpta.org.uk with all the details. The NCPTA will donate £10 to your association, if we publish your story.

For this academic year, the NCPTA has introduced a new regional newssheet, Your Area, which will be posted to the key contact for your association.
